When you think about a journey- how long does that imply?  Is a journey months, years?  SFO has clearly been on a journey to get better.  Let's rewind the clock by two years.

The airport community, especially the GIS professionals across the community, was ably represented at the 2025 Esri User Conference (UC) in San Diego, CA.  Josephine Young, Director, Infrastructure Information Management and Guy Michael, GIS Principal from the San Francisco International Airport presented on the Plenary Main Stage the opening morning of the conference.  The 13:28 minute video is well worth your time to better understand how GIS, BIM, and real time data support situational awareness and decision making for both landside and airside operations- indoors and outside, across every level.
