I'm trying to get a form attached to a geodatabase in ArcPad 10 to reference a database stored on my mobile device (Trimble Nomad 800).
What I'm trying to do is to create a unique identifier based on which mobile device was used (we have several in the field at the same time) along the lines of, <yymmdd><device><FID>, eg. PA110112PA1.
There is a fairly wide gap in user capabilities that we have to deal with so the less I need to rely on the field recorders to get it right the better 🙂 otherwise I would just have a dropdown.
