I'm trying to create a quick project template. In the Default template, it is possible to choose a different coordinate system (select a prj-file), and the generated shape files get correct prj-files.
See image from Quick project summary (Norwegian text):

The summary shows the projection I chose.

I'm not able to make the same function in my own quick project template. If I exclude my prj-files, no new prj-files are created. And if I include the prj-files, the projection info is not overwritten by the selection I did in the quick project dialog.
I see the same issue in the other example Quick project templates, e.g. the Tree Register.

Hi Dag,

Apologies for the late reply 😞

The ability to select a projection for your QuickProject only applies to Default QuickProjects.

Any QuickProject Templates - custom or included with ArcPad - cannot be re-projected when creating a QuickProject.

The Projections Icon should be disabled when Templates other than the Default QuickProject have been selected.

I would suggest creating 2 templates, each with a different projection to include as QuickProject Templates if your project covers different zones.

Thanks,

Hannah

Hi Dag,

If you want to be able to specify a projection for your QuickProject (regardless of the Template used) you must ensure the following:

No layers are open and in the map at the time of QuickProject creation eg. create the QuickProject when you first open ArcPad. If any layers are already open, only the existing map projection can be used.

Try closing and opening ArcPad, then create your QuickProject!

Let me know if this works,

Hannah

Hi Hannah.
I still can't get this work.
The template 'Default' works as expected every time, but when trying another template (e.g. Fire Perimeter) both the .prj file and the.apm file get GCS_WGS_1984 regardless of what projection I choose in the quick project dialog.
I use ArcPad 10.04 on Windows 7.

Hannah,
are you able to set your own projection (other than GCS WGS84) on the Fire_Perimeter quick project?

Thanks Hannah.
That was my "workaround" solution; one template per projection.
