Obviously ArcPad studio isn't very intuitive.  For example, I have some controls that I want to edit and I want to make two comboboxes the same size.  There is the option Control>Make Same size, but I can only select one control.  I can't select two controls, and presumably the order that I pick them in would determine which one is the target size.  So all I can do is select a control and make it the same size as WHAT?

To use the align controls in ArcPad Studio, simply click on the control that you want to use as a template, then click on the control to be resized. Holding down the control key will put a red outline around the control that was last selected so you can see which control you are aligning to. Then use the Align controls in the Control menu.

It is as easy as that, click on the control to align to, click on the control to align and then pick the Align tool you want to use from the menu!!

Hope this helps!!

Subtle note is that the red box disappears after you release the ctrl key so hold it. If you forget, press the ctrl key again and the box pops up again - OK that is handy.

Selecting multiple controls ?!?! sure would be nice 🙂

An alternate way to size and align controls is to look at their X, Y, Width, and Height values and model your other controls on these values.  In addition to matching their size and horizontal placement, you can easily keep their vertical spacing between controls the same.

If you're managing a lot of controls, I'd also suggest toggling from "Tree View" to "Source View" and editing those values in bulk.
