I'm trying to tabulate area based upon land cover data with census tracts as my feature class. My issue main seems to be when I add up all the the fields during tabulate data, it looks like it overestimate the amount of sq meters in each census tract. I only know this due to the fact that the census tract comes with the area in sq meters in the attribute table and I'm getting values that are more than 4x greater than the initial area. There is a mix of census tracts in there that seem to be calculated accurately for some undiscernible reason. I have no idea why its doing this. Perhaps tabulate data is assigning more than one value for every sq meter?
