I am currently working with some data created by someone on a network server. Unfortunately, many of the layers (shapefiles) have locks that don't follow the conventional name.shp.sr.lock format. In ArcMap (10.8.1), they follow this format: r.lock[layer name]. The person who created this layer no longer works at the organization, so I know that this isn't open somewhere else. Additionally, something odd I'm encountering is that, in File Explorer, the shapefile files do not do not have the "lock" extension anywhere.
Does anyone have any experience with this? Many thanks in advance.
