Hello.

A warning that upgrading from ArcMap 10.8.1 to 10.8.2 has broken support for ECW images.

Is there a timeline for when this will be fixed? ECWs are critical to my work.

This happened with ArcMap 10.6 as well, and ESRI supplied a patch. Possibly the issue is the same, and hence quickly patchable?

Kind regards

David

Solution until the patch is available:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\ESRI\Desktop10.8\Raster\Preferences]

[HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-012345678-012345678-012345678-12345\SOFTWARE\ESRI\Desktop10.8\Raster\Formats]
"0x59b9e63"="<e on=\"y\" nm=\"ER Mapper ECW\" ex=\"*.ecw\" />"

Forgot to mention;

The 'S-1-5-21-012345678-012345678-012345678-12345' bit may differ depending on your Windows version or edition, so have to look that up first.

This patch worked for ArcMap 10.8.2, but I still cannot view ECW files in ArcReader 10.8.2.
