Cost Path will not draw

Hello,

I am attempting to run a Cost Path analysis from one point to another. The tool successfully executes, but no path is shown.

Slope was calculated from 10m DEM files, then a cost distance tool was executed, and finally the backlink tool. All seem to have results, though the backlink process did alert me to several messages stating "Cost Cells with zero or negative values were encountered. Not all source cells may have been processed." It still generated a result, but when I use the Cost Path tool it will not generate any kind of path.

The image attached shows the Slope overlaid with the Backlink. As you can tell, there are several open spots (in green) with no backlink data. Is this causing the issue?

Is the coordinate system the same as all the other data?

Does it appear in a new empty map?

Hello Dan,

Yes, the coordinate systems are the same as well as pixel size, processing extent, and workspaces.

No, the cost path does not appear in the new empty map.

It is possible that no path was found/created, check around your points to make sure that movement can proceed from one cell to the next.

This is the clue "Cost Cells with zero or negative values were encountered. Not all source cells may have been processed."

Thanks, Dan. I think we figured out the DEM data was the culprit, and it fixed the issue. Thanks for your help!
