I have downloaded ArcGIS Desktop version 10.7.1 on my computer. I can not reconnect my layers. Both ArcMap and ArcCatalog show there is no files in the folders even though there is data there. It's like it's not recognizing layer files. It connects shape files and geodatabases, but no layer files.
