Good Afternoon. I am having a problem with overlaying a lat/long address Excel file (.csv) onto an existing town parcel (polygon) file. I started by writing down all of the coordinate and projection system information for the parcel file. I then thought I would be fine if I assigned that same information to the .csv file as I imported it into ArcMap. After the import, I exported the date to create a shapefile and added it to my project. I then added the parcel layer. When I clicked on "Full Extent" I had one little dot (the lat/long point shapefile) that showed up at the top of the data window and another tiny dot (the town parcel file) that showed up at the bottom of the data window. I have checked the coordinate system information for both shapefiles and they are the same. I have also reviewed many Youtube videos, but to no avail. I am at a loss as to what I am doing wrong. Help!
