I've created a project, and now I'm trying to add layers from my AGOL organization to the Dispatcher and Worker maps. I keep getting an error, "Unable to establish a secure connection to the layer."

I've seen this error before in Story Maps, and have been able to check a box about http vs. https. Is there a similar box in Workforce that I haven't been able to find yet?

I had the same issue.  There seems to be an issue with adding the layers via Project Overview page when you Click on the "Dispatcher Map" or "Worker Map" to start adding layers.   I found that Workforce creates a series of features and services at the time of Workforce project creation under your organizational content page.    The work around for now is to do the following:

  1. Login to your organizational account
  2. Navigate to "My Content" tab.
  3. Notice the list of folders along the left side of the "My Content" list.
  4. Select the folder that is named the same as your "Workforce Project Name"
  5. Under that folder your list will update to show the assignments layer, dispatcher layer, workers, and two web maps (dispatcher and workers).
  6. Select either map you are working on to add layers traditionally with any AGOL web map.
  7. Add your layers and configure as needed then "Save" the map.
  8. Once that is done open the desired Workforce map (i.e. dispatcher) to view.

I hope this helps for now until ESRI corrects this issue with the Workforce!

Kevin, April,

Can you answer a few questions so I can make sure we have the right repro case to look at this issue?

Can you confirm if your organization settings have "Allow access to the organization through HTTPS only." enabled?

Are you using the http or https protocol when opening Workforce?

thanks,

Hi Craig,

“Allow access to the organization through HTTPS only”  is unchecked.       I reviewed the URL history for workforce.    I have accessed workforce via the http://workforce.arcgis.com/

I assume by your questions that the above needs to be enabled in order to configure the dispatch and mobile workers maps via workforce project?

Thanks,

Kevin

No, it isn't necessary - it looks like something else is going on.

Let's take this offline so we can dig into it further; can you DM your email?  April, if you'd also like to investigate this further, please DM me your email.
