Please Explain JTX Job Number Creation

G'day All

We are starting to use JTX in our organisation to track Tasks/jobs etc...

What intrigues me is why JTX Job Numbers are not sequential but are randomly generated.

Can anyone please explain the process JTX uses to assign a job number to a new job and if it is possible to make JTX to create sequential job numbers.

Hi Pete,

The JTX Job Id is generated by the Oracle feature ID in the back end. If you can work out a way to control the Oracle ID generation you will then get control over the Job ID. I have no idea if that can be done by the way.
