Hello,

I am planning to use Web AppBuilder for GIS Data editing application. We have arcgis server 10.2.2. Is ArcGIS online account necessary to use web appbuilder. The client does not want to host or link map services on ArcGIS online. Everything should be hosted locally. Is Web AppBuilder a right choice?

Please recommend some options.

Hi Shaik,

Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS is designed to work with web maps. So you will need access to a portal (either ArcGIS Online or Portal for ArcGIS) to use it.

FYI, if you upgrade to ArcGIS Enterprise 10.3 or later, Portal for ArcGIS is included - which means you will also get access to Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS. And yes, it can work with web services that are all hosted locally, using a web map in Portal - which could also be hosted locally.

Hope this helps,
