Hi,

Each week I use python to upload a mxd to AGOL. The mxd contains 30 layers or so that get uploaded into 1 hosted feature service layer. When I look at in a map on AGOL the hosted Feature Layer name appears in front of every layer in the map (in the legend and layer list). Is there way to hide the feature layer name without manually going into each layer to rename it?

My hosted feature layer is called AllPDS, notice in the image below it shows up in front of every layer.

I manually publish my maps to AGOL.

Is there a way to accomplish this outside of the coding environment?

Either during the publishing steps in ArcMap or Map creation from a layer in AGOL?

Hi Anna,

I ended up creating a web map with the feature layer that I uploaded and manually changed the name (to take out the service layer name) for every variable. Every week when I overwrite the file it keeps the same naming convention that I modified in the web map.

Hope this helps,

-Amber

Hey Amber,

We are constantly uploading unique Collector maps so I'm not sure an overwrite would work.  Thanks though!
