Disable feature highlight on the map from Infographic widget

As noted by Nicklas Richards‌ in this Idea, the WAB Infographic "widgets have interactive charts that allow the user to mouse over the chart segments and the related features on the map to highlight accordingly."  Can this functionality be disabled (without disabling the popup on the infographic chart that shows the category data)?

I checked with the Web AppBuilder Dev team, this is not possible at this time. Please submit an enhancement request on the ArcGIS Ideas forum for Web AppBuilder.

Any updates? when you have many locations on the map this feature really is unnecessary and makes the map to even crash sometimes.
