I've been through this a few cycles now and keep losing my work.
I make edits in Arc Online in the Web AppBuilder like I've done before. Yet, the changes don't save. At the bottom of the page, it says "Saved," and I thought it was saving in real-time, but I noticed it doesn't even flicker. Tried a "Save As" to no avail.
I've tried making a change as simple as adding a single widget, and it won't keep.
