I am trying to use the Query widget in the Viewer.  It seems to work - when I start the viewer, the query runs and displays a set of records.  But when I click on a row, nothing happens.  Help?

Harry,

What did you set your zoom scale to?

http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/flex-viewer/concepts/index.html#/Query_widget/01m30000003m000000...

Regards

Anthony

I've tried the default;  I've tried 10,000; I've tried 2000.  It just sits there and stares back at me.

Are you using a tiled base map and have you tried using one of the scales that the basemap has been cached to.

Do you also have the same problem when you deploy the app not just looking at it n the application builder?

Same thing happens on the deployed map.  It's like I haven't told it to do anything.  I feel like there's something basic about the Query widget I'm not getting.

Harry,

Does the .xml file that the application builder creates for the widget contain a zoomscale tag?

Yes... here's the file:

<configuration>
    <layer>http://bsegrest-edn/ednarcgis/rest/services/CTS/CTS/MapServer/1</layer>
    <query>STATUS_DESC = 'New'</query>
    <titlefield>CTS.COMPLAINT_LOCATION_Features.COMPLAINT_ID</titlefield>
    <linkfield/>
    <refreshrate/>
    <zoomscale>20000</zoomscale>
    <shareresults>false</shareresults>
    <orderbyfields>CTS.COMPLAINT_LOCATION_Features.COMPLAINT_ID</orderbyfields>
    <fields all="false">
        <field name="CTS.COMPLAINT_LOCATION_Features.COMPLAINT_ID" alias="COMPLAINT_ID"/>
        <field name="CTS.COMPLAINT_LOCATION_Features.LATITUDE_DECIMAL" alias="LATITUDE"/>
        <field name="CTS.COMPLAINT_LOCATION_Features.LONGITUDE_DECIMAL" alias="LONGITUDE"/>
    </fields>
</configuration>

This morning I tried using the Search widget, and the same thing happens - I can get results in the popup, but nothing happens when I click on a row.  There's something I'm missing here.

Ahhh..... found the problem.  I hadn't made the Shape field available to the Flex viewer.  It's all good now.
