Issue regarding scaling the map with the print widget

I am having a problem with the print widget and also with the PDF export function that I have added.  When printing the map, I want the map to be scaled across the full width and height of a page, preferably in landscape format. I can only get the map to scale maybe 3/4 the page when printing and also when using the pdf export.  I dont know what the problem is. Can someone help me. I can give sample code if needed.

You can always change your screen resolution on your computer.  Have you tried the Advanced Java Print Widget http://www.arcgis.com/rc/item.html?id=6809086326ea4c76bf026a32bb9dd698?  It works wonderfully on being able to set scales for prints.
