hey,
i'm creating a uniform basemap for my workplace using esri's vector style editor, and i noticed that one has the option of stylizing the labels for roads based on their classification (eg, arterial, major collector, etc.). i was curious if anyone knows from where that data is garnered. i live in the midwest, for eg, and we have the mid-america regional council, but their road classifications differ from the opinions of the traffic engineers i work with. and even THEIR opinions differ from the streets team i work with, lol.
so i guess i'm wondering if esri keeps annual daily traffic, or do they get their information from the dpt of transportation, or what.
i suppose ultimately i'm wondering how accurate such a feature could be, as nice as it is.
