Hi everyone, wanted to ask and see if there are best practices or common ways of how others model devices within manholes, vaults, and switch gears? Below is our circuit map and we'd like to symbolize PME-11 as a switch gear bank but unsure of how to symbolize the close fuses and same with the vault, it contains 3-600A Splices and 3-4 way JBARS. Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
draw all the busbar as electric lines, and the switches/fuses are all modeled as electric devices. the switchgear/cabinet can be modeled as a point (electric assembly), polygon (structure boundary), or both. The switchgear would 'contain' all the devices and electric lines inside it, but not the conductors connected to it.
In terms of how to handle the splices and JBARS, is there any reason why you couldn't continue to model it the way that its currently drawn? I have seen more complex representations of them, but in situations where you're already dealing with dense underground infrastructure it can become difficult to interpret. Especially when this information is viewed on a mobile device.
