Hello,

I have some queries with Electric Utility Network.

  1. Is it possible to migrate electric transmission GN to UN with Hierarchical tier definition?
  2. Is there a sample asset package available for same? If not, then the asset package needs to be created from scratch?

Thank you for any thoughts on this!!

Can you provide an example of the problem you are trying to solve? There is likely a better way to achieve this than by changing the network's topology type to be hierarchical.

The topology type (hierarchical or partitioned) is defined at the domain network level, not at the tier level. This means the entire electric network would become hierarchical, allowing each feature to belong to a separate transmission, distribution, etc network. This would be bad for performance, but also doesn't align well with organizational and regulatory definitions for electrical networks.

We have a beta version of a transmission model that is hierarchical.   If you will send me your email address I will add you to the repository.

Just keen to understand how you would model the electrical network that is Hierarchical. We have had this discussion internally and we always settled on the "best" way being a partitioned model.
If you have any documentation around this, we'd love to explore.

are you talking about a Transmission system or Balanced Three Phase system or an Unbalanced System?  Transmission and Balanced are easily modeled using a Hierarchical.  If you send me your email address I can add you to a Beta for a Transmission model that is Hierarchical.  jalsup@esri.com

We have a Transmission and Distribution network (unbalanced). I have sent you an email 🙂
