Hi there,

New to ArcGIS here, so please bear with me. 😉

I have several lists of coded features (e.g. bird species codes; please see screenshot below) which I want to apply to drop down menus in Survey123 web app to collect data in the field app. I would like to create a dropdown menu which will autopopulate the name in the next field in Survey123 field app.

I can do it in Field Maps really easy using a calculated Arcade expression. Is there a simple way to do this in Survey123?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Sarah,

I believe this should be straightforward.

On your survey xls, create a new field type text, then give it the name you prefer and on the calculation column ( I think it's column K) add ${FieldName} (being field name the dropdown that you want autopopulated).

I hope this makes sense

Hi @ALBJORGUI ,

Thank you for your reply!

I am currently working off macOS so don't have access to Survey123 Connect (having a new machine delivered next week). Is there any way this can be done in Survey123 Online?

Thanks.

Sarah

If you created your survey with S123 connect you wont be able to make any changed in survey123 website I'm afraid

I created my survey on the S123 website. So is there a way to do this in this case?

I think you might, I am not very familiar with S123 capabilities. What I am pretty sure is that if you created yours with S123Connect then you can't modify it on S123website.
