Currently all of our surveys are published/hosted on AGOL. We are transitioning to Enterprise and are considering moving our surveys to Enterprise, but after reading all the limitations of using Survey123 on Enterprise it may be a deal-breaker.
If we could continue to host our surveys on AGOL, but have users login using their Enterprise logins and still be able to download and submit surveys to AGOL that might be the best way to resolve this, since we would not be subject to the limitations of using Survey123 on Enterprise.
The problem is licensing. It would be costly and inefficient to replicate the Level2 edit licenses on both AGOL and Enterprise for the same person - i.e each person would need to be assigned a L2 license (Creator) on both AGOL and Portal to download and edit surveys.
Is there a right way to do this? Is it possible to have users sign into portal so they'd have their L2 license, but download and submit surveys hosted on AGOL?
Hi,
Can you detail which limitations of using Survey123 on Enterprise are concerning?
Hi James,
The biggest concern is:
"Printing using feature report templates does not work with ArcGIS Enterprise deployments that aren't public facing. Attempting to do so will present a getaddrinfo ENOTFOUND error."
We're using Integromat to print and process submitted surveys, and I'm concerned this means that functionality will no longer work.
Thanks for providing details. You are correct that the feature report system is not designed to work with ArcGIS Enterprise systems that are firewalled from the Survey123 website. We are working on an on-premises installation of the Survey123 website, though feature report generation will not be available in the initial release.
