Our survey uses geoshape affectively to collect sizes of lands, from that we calculate hectares. All works well upon data collection, but issues arise in edit mode.

Occasionally the polygon boundary might repeat over itself, usually at the time of closing the polygon at the end. During data collection phase the shape area calculates correctly, for the full area of the shape. However if we need to edit the survey and view the geoshape in edit mode, the geoshape appears to split into a multi-shape and recalculates the area of the shape for only one portion of the original polygon, sometimes resulting in hectares reducing from a full area of 10ha to a tiny little triangle of 0.01ha.
Is there a way to force the area to calculate for the whole geoshape?
