Filter/Search multi_select without losing selected choices?

Is it possible to configure a multi select to filter without losing previously selected choices.

Right now, when a filter is activated, any selected choices are reset. I would like to add to and essentially hide choices when they are filtered out and not clear the selection.

This is the behaviour of the element, so "no", it cannot be changed.

I would suggest making an Idea post.

This also seems a little unintended, and it may be a bug. But even if it is, support will likely suggest you make an Idea post regardless.
