Create a tally (video example provided) to count fleas.

I need to create a tally button to account for fleas. Here is an example of someone that created a tally button to count ringtails in minute 11:51: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rfvpVAyzung

Also, I am unsure if her tally button works how I want. In my form, I only have one column for the total of fleas observed and another for the total of fleas collected. In the field, things can get messy with many people trying to collect different stuff and talking, and it is easy to lose count. I am afraid that a surveyor might enter a given number and, while erasing it and making the new sum, the technician forgets the previous number, resulting in an incorrect entry. I would like the tally button to automatically count and the final number to be entered in a given column. Is that possible?

You might want to have a look at the "spinner" appearance when working with tallies, it allows a user to press a "plus" button to add a value each time they need to do so, rather than erasing and entering a new value completely.
