Hi

We have a survey with multi repeats and when I try to publish to our 10.6 Enterprise Portal from Survey123 Connect (3.1.126) I keep getting get a 504 timeout error.  If I take out all but one repeat (doesnt matter which) it will publish fine.  It is possible to have a survey with more than one repeat isnt it??

Just wondering if there is something I am missing our if I have the syntax wrong somewhere in this form?

Cheers, Chris

Hi Chris,

Is the feature service one that was published by Survey123, or an existing service (either hosted or in the enterprise geodatabase).  A 504 error is an ArcGIS Server error - have you checked the ArcGIS Server logs for any issues?

Thanks James

I have created a new survey in Survey123 Connect from scratch to publish to our Enterprise Portal, so it is a new hosted feature service that is should be creating.

The ArcGIS Server logs don't show anything of note to me

It does seem to me to be something with having multiple repeats.  As I have tried publish the same form with just a single repeat and it works fine.  As soon as I have more than one it fails.

Cheers

As far as I can tell, this issue wasn't resolved... I am having the same error when I try to generate a report with multiple repeats. I was able to get my template to pass the syntax check, but now the report won't generate. Perhaps it's a formatting/syntax nuance I'm missing? Any tips for multiple repeats formatting?

I kept plodding away and discovered that with multiple repeats, tables are your friend. If you have repeats within a larger repeat section, add all the child repeats to a parent table (I just made the parent a one row/column table) that includes the parent repeat syntax at top and bottom, outside of the child repeats.

I'm also getting a 504 error a lot. I'm on an Enterprise Portal. This is with feature report templates.

- When trying to upload templates from a file the error seems to come through with the check syntax api request. 'Error: Undefined'

- When just asking it to create its own sample template.

- sometimes even using the quick reference link

I am also getting this error working with a Survey published to ArcGIS Online. It returns a 504 error when checking the template syntax even from the sample template. Were you able to find any kind of resolution? (The table workaround mentioned above didn't seem to work for me)

Best,
Katie
