I think this will be a great enhancement for Survey123 Web Designer without needing to use Survey123 Connect.
Dear ArcGIS Survey123 Team, please implement a “smart compression” feature for photo uploads in ArcGIS Survey123 web forms. The system should detect when a photo file exceeds a set size limit—for example, 5 MB—and automatically prompt users with a pop-up: “Your photo is large. Would you like to compress it before uploading?” This workflow mirrors the practical approach found in leading mobile email apps like Outlook, and removes the need for technical workarounds via Survey123 Connect.
This solution will:
• Prevent oversized image submissions that block or slow down survey completion.
• Reduce storage usage and network load.
• Make Survey123 more user-friendly, especially for field or non-technical staff.
This option addresses municipal organizations’ needs for efficient, error-free data collection, reducing frustration for both users and administrators.
