Sharing Story Maps with individual users

Is there a way to share StoryMaps with individual users? I have students in my class using data that they are not allowed to share with anyone expect for me. But, they only have the option to share the StoryMap with everyone with a University license. They need to be able to only make the published StoryMap visible to me.

Hi @epiza! -- You can create an ArcGIS group and add you and the student(s) required as members of the group. Then, when publishing the story you can share it to the group you've created.

Thank you! I was hoping to avoid having to create a group for each of my students using non public data, but at least this gives me an option. you should recommend that future versions of StoryMaps allow users to share stories with specified ArcGIS online users.

@epiza -- Yes, I agree this process is currently a bit cumbersome. Sharing directly to another user is a capability that would be implemented by ArcGIS Online and then it would apply for all items and apps. Looks like there is already an idea that you can vote for on the ArcGIS Online ideas board here.
