Hi all,
I'm looking for a way to restrict the zoom level on an embedded map within a storymap. I can set the visible range of individual layers, but I'd really like to restrict the zoom level on the whole map - is this possible?
Thanks in advance for any help!
Helen

Hello @HelenCooper , there is not a way to limit map zoom on a web map in StoryMaps. You could embed a web app in StoryMaps with a web map navigation boundary. Check out this tutorial and let me know if you have any questions: https://support.esri.com/en/technical-article/000024890

Thanks @AbbyE_Esri, that would be a potential workaround. Did I hear rumours that WebApp builder may be entering extended support at some point in the not-too-distant future though?
Thanks again,
Helen
@HelenCooper Yes, there's still a bit of time until Web AppBuilder retires, but here's the roadmap for your reference: https://www.esri.com/arcgis-blog/products/web-appbuilder/announcements/arcgis-web-appbuilder-roadmap...
Let me know how this option works for you if you try it!
Thanks,
Abby
Thanks @AbbyE_Esri. It's a good suggestion but the roadmap for webappbuilder is not good news for me (and many others I suspect). I need the tools that I'm building to have greater longevity than that!
Slightly frustrating, as web appbuilder is a great tool, and Experience Builder just doesn't match its capabilities yet.
@HelenCooper , good point, this won't be a solution at its current state for more than a few years. Controlling the map zoom extent could be something you could add to the ArcGIS StoryMaps Ideas page as a suggestion for an enhancement to our product, if you'd be willing to write up a few words about it!
Have a good weekend,
Abby
