There is a cool Instructions text type available in the Story Maps template builder (that is in Beta). Does anyone know when will I be able to publish this template as a story that also includes the Instructions type? I guess what I am asking is when will Beta be done and will Instructions go over with the update? I really like it and am relying on it heavily for this thing I am doing but I'm not a fan of users seeing that it is a template and is in Beta. Thank you!

Hi @Jeaner - It is expected for the template instructions to not appear in a published story. By design, instructions are intended only for the person using the template to create a story, so they are automatically hidden when viewing a published story created from a template.

It sounds like you would like a new type of block that's often referred to as a "callout" that provides a specific way of styling text in a document (similar to the existing QUOTE block). If I am interpreting your request correctly, I would suggest that you post this to the ideas board so others who would also like this can vote for it.

We are still gathering feedback about templates, so they will likely be in beta for a few more months.

@Jeaner - Thanks for your question. Are you mostly wondering when templates will be out of beta or are you looking for a new capability in stories? If the latter, can you share a few more details about what you would like to be able to do? What do you like about the instruction block and how would you like to use it (that you can't do today)?

@OwenGeo hey there! I am mostly wondering when templates will be out of beta. As it stands, if I make a template, duplicate and then publish to a story, the instructions block formatting (and the text in it), disappears. Long story short, I am trying to keep this look (image below) but not have it say "You are viewing a template".
