We are migrating for classic map series to the new story maps.
In the older version we had an image that incorporates map for redirecting clients to embed map journals. Something like this,
<img src="workplace.jpg" alt="Workplace" usemap="#workmap" width="400" height="379">
<map name="workmap">
<area shape="rect" coords="34,44,270,350" alt="Computer" href="computer.htm">
<area shape="rect" coords="290,172,333,250" alt="Phone" href="phone.htm">
<area shape="circle" coords="337,300,44" alt="Cup of coffee" href="coffee.htm">
</map>
How can we incorporate the same methodology in the newer version of story maps?
Any pointers towards how we can embed more story maps in a main story are much appreciated.
Hi Abdur -- I think I understand the mechanics of what you are doing, but I'm not able to envision the overall experience you are going for. Could you share a link or screenshots so we can get some more insight into what you are trying to do?
@OwenGeo, thanks again for catering to my questions.
In the older version. There is a map journal with a navigation bar that shows different regions, and under each region, there is a vertically large image showing the rock formation of each area. When the user hovers on top of an image and clicks on a particular layer (here is where the HTML image map comes in), they are navigated to a map series that shows that layer's properties as a slideshow.
