Hi @Zelnio ,
I'm sorry this is happening in your stories! Are these captions disappearing immediately after adding the captions, on a page refresh, or at another time? Does using the Undo button at the top of the builder bring back the caption?
Thanks,
Abby
It happens while I am still working in the file, not sure if it is immediately, but it does occur before I close or convert to preview. It occurs only on the large images, not the galleries or sidecars, and it is not every image, but some of them disappear multiple times. Also, the attribute does not disappear, just the caption below the image. I usually copy the caption text from either Word, InDesign or Adobe PDF. I work on a 2023 iMac, Sonoma OS. I have been creating Storymaps for the last year or two and never had any issues until last week. Thanks for your help with this!
Update: I worked today in the file and so far the captions remain. Occasionally, due to my own error, I get kicked out of the working draft. Today when that happened and I reopened the story I got a warning that I was working in two tabs, though I could not see that there were two. I wonder if that was happening by accident before and therefore not saving the captions?
In a separate issue, I often need to paste text that has accents and glyphs, but when I paste from a PDF, the glyphs do not translate and there is no way to add them in the program. Can you confirm that I cannot add glyphs once the text is in Storymaps? I did experiment and the glyphs do seem to be maintained if I copy and paste from Word instead. The program seems very sensitive to where you copy text from.
