Realise this is an old one, but really surprised we've had no movement on this at all. Ok, so we've got the ability to show a table in StoryMaps, or even a chart, but do they link to data, nope.
It would be really useful to pull through values from a feature service as dynamic elements within a block of text, or even the ability to call an Arcade Expression to create the text.
We have a large number of developed StoryMaps that are "crying out" for dynamic data, especially those that offer situational awareness, operational performance, or community updates and profiles.
It's not ideal to create an app or dashboard to then have it embedded.
Please, please, please, pretty please 🙂
@JonathanMcD - Thanks for sharing this idea, and we share your passion for data-driven storytelling!
We are definitely looking into providing some of the capabilities you mentioned, but in the meantime there are already lots of ways to incorporate live data into ArcGIS StoryMaps. Some are by embedding apps, such as dashboards, the chart viewer instant app, etc, but there are others.
