I am trying to move a classic story maps story into the new Story Maps and the Explorer Tour block would be a  perfect format for the story, however I want to provide links in the text that the user could click on to zoom into a different part of the map.  For example, the classic story map is about some wildlife management areas and we have map actions to allow the user to zoom the map to the access points at each area.  I don't see that option in the Explorer Tour.  Links that change the map frame to a photo or video would be nice as well.  Basically all the map actions that were available in the classic story maps....

Hi  -- Thanks for providing feedback about ArcGIS StoryMaps!

There are already some features in map tours (guided and explorer varieties) that I think may meet the needs you've described here. Please let me know your thoughts on these...

>>… map actions to allow the user to zoom the map to the access points at each area

You can set the zoom level independently for each place in your tour. Just go to "Edit location" and make sure the toggle in the lower right is set to "Use the current zoom level." When you do this, the zoom level you are looking at in the location editor will be saved and that's what readers will see. Using this feature you can set a different zoom level for each place. This should be much easier that using map actions since your specific extent will show as soon as the reader navigates to each place. You won't need to add additional buttons to the tour description and your readers won't need to worry about clicking them!

Can you share a little more information about this request? There are already dedicated map and media panels for all tour layouts.

If you are looking to be able to change the media to something else, tours already support adding up to five pieces of media for each place. The media can be any combination of images and videos. Just click the "Add media" button to add more media items.
