The old StoryMap templates used to allow a map action to be configured that would display a map pop-up when the user clicked on a link/button.   This functionality is no longer available since moving to the new StoryMap Builder.

It would be great if this functionality could be added to the media actions, so that the map can be zoomed in, layers turned on/off and the map pop-up displayed all at once with a single click.

This has been raised before, but it has been marked as solved in the previous thread (see below).   From what I can tell, the functionality doesn't seem to exist as yet.

Solved: Re: Display popup as 'opened' in mapview - Esri Community

It has also been requested a couple of times throughout this thread:

More Map Actions styles - Esri Community

Thanks for your consideration.

This feature is currently in development and expected to be released sometime in Q2 of 2024.

That is great news, thanks Owen

Thanks @OwenGeo, it will be great to have this capability.

The ability to highlight a feature in a map by showing its pop-up when a map loads was just added. For more information, see What’s new in ArcGIS StoryMaps (April 2024) (esri.com).

This capability is not yet available for map actions, as this idea has requested, but we will be working on that for a future update.

Hello, this does not solve our issue. We have multiple locations highlighted in a given area that in the old version we had the ability to have users click text on the sidebar and have the pop-up for that specific location show. We need to be able to have a pop-up tied to a Map Action so users can select which pop-up to see. Is there any word on having pop-ups display as a Map Action?
