We are looking to share all projects that we've worked on and will be working on. We have more than 100 sites. I understand the idea of the Map Tour Block is that scrolling would be frustrating to scroll through 100 different sections, but we are using the Grid template of the Tour block. With this, the intent is that people would be interested in just the projects close to them and thus would only click on the points near them and wouldn't be scrolling through all projects. We are looking for a solution that has the option to have 5 pictures, and large blocks of text, AND is easy for non-GIS professionals to complete. With that, dashboards, web apps, and experience builders are not the right solution for us and is why we settled on StoryMaps. However, the limit of 100 points option means that it is not viable for us.
OwenGeo thanks for replay, but the solotion is only for data-driven tour. I hope that will possible also for a map tour withot data-diven map, this for me have some other limits.
it will be possible to have more than 100 points also for the stories with base map?
@Stefanobruscoli -- For performance reasons, manually created tours are limited to 100 points, and we don't currently have plans to increase this limit.
Could you share some more information about the other limits you mentioned so we can understand your workflow and what your needs are? One idea that I could suggest is that you create a Survey123 form to generate the feature service of place information for your tour since you have so many points to include.
Hello OwenGeo
this is my job:
https://storymaps.arcgis.com/stories/933a3265b17b45b6b3e4eb90611df500
For my city town government I must deploy this app for show all the job made from 2014. There's about 150 point. Each card, for a single job have many photo and with many info: type, cost, designer, job director ecc. For me isn't possible to give this info with a feature layer or using Survey123, I also have this info.
For my personal experience Storymap is a great product, and with 100 points no performance problem. Please can I have in my Arcgis Online subscription a trial for at lest 150 points? As if where a betatester.....
@Stefanobruscoli -- Thanks for sharing that example and the additional information.
Since this idea is marked as IMPLEMENTED, I would recommend that you create a new idea here on the ideas board specifically referring to manually created map tours and the reasons you prefer to or have to use that mechanism for creating your tour. That way other members of the community can upvote it and add comments about how important this might be to them so we can have more information on how to prioritize this request with our other development efforts.
For now, when you have more than 100 places to show you can add multiple tours to a single story. Perhaps you can group the places into different tours based on geographic location or category (it looks like the places have categories)? At the beginning of the story, you could insert an overview web map that shows all the places on the same map, if needed. Then each tour would show a single category of places.
One more recommendation, with so many places in each explorer tour we recommend using the widest panel size to reduce the amount of scrolling the reader needs to do when navigating through the story.
