In the new ArcGIS Story Maps builder, there is no way to customize font size. The only way to change font sizes are to change to the preset sizes based on type of text (paragraph, heading, etc.). We are looking at putting together story maps for various presentations. With a specific organization style guide to adhere to, we need the capability to adjust the text to the sizes as indicated in the style guide. It would be helpful to be able to highlight text in any area of the story map builder (be that a sidecar, caption, guided tour, slideshow, paragraph, etc.) and adjust the font size of that highlighted text (much like the text colors and emphasis like bold or italics can be adjusted in that way). Another possibility for adjustable font sizes would be to include the option to change the preset sizes of the type of texts in the new themes builder so we could create a template to use in all presentations where the paragraph text is the size we need for paragraphs, heading text is the size we need for headings, etc.
While the ability to adjust the size in the theme is nice, it's still very limiting. Why are there only options for large and medium size paragraph font? Why no small? And there's a huge jump from medium to large in size different. I thought maybe we could toggle on the code and just adjust it in the code, but the code button apparently does nothing of use. We're trying to make a smaller font section of a StoryMap that thanks sponsors, but lists them in small font rather than the same size font as everything else. I thought as a work around, maybe I could adjust the font size in the custom theme we're using, and make that section "medium" while everything else can just be adjusted to "large".
That's an insane jump in size. Probably at least 3 or 4 font sizes.
So my questions are:
1. Why no "small" option? Where medium actually represents a middle ground between the existing options.
2. Why is it not just a rich text editor? Or at least a more robust text editor than picking from if your text is a header or a paragraph?
3. Header 3 appears to basically be the same size as the medium font. Why are any header fonts smaller than the largest paragraph font?
I'm so confused on the thought process behind the font size options.
