pretty well anything, like trying to convert a floating point values to a raster, way too many values to convert, a bad file path...
The important information isn't that it crashed, but
- what was the extent and cell size used?
- what was the path, name and type of the raster you were trying to create?
- does it crash on all files or just this one?
- did you try a portion of the file to rule out file size issues?
- did you try it on another machine to rule out machine issues?
- did you have background geoprocessing turned on?
- anything else not listed above
