Hello,

I am trying to find out what it will cost to use Bing Maps in my ArcGIS Runtime SDK for WPF based application. It is currently a proprietary internal application with maybe a half-dozen users, but it may turn into an application we provide to customers, perhaps 10s of users at any given time.

I know this isn't the most appropriate forum for a question like this, but I don't what else to do!

I have tried going through http://www.microsoft.com/maps/contact-us.aspx a few times but nobody has responded. A local Microsoft reseller has tried getting information for me and the only thing I have been able to find out so far is "Microsoft Bing Maps Enterprise Platform - Subscription license 1 month 1 user $4500.00 each".  Certainly there must be something less expensive!

Does anyone out there have any experience trying to license Bing Maps in a proprietary ArcGIS Runtime SDK for WPF based application? Are there any reasonably-priced options available? Any suggestions on who I should contact for information (I am in Canada)?

Thanks,
-Frank

Hi,

You will need to obtain a Bing key directly from Microsoft - you can send an email to bing4esri@microsoft.com

There are additional details in the Bing Maps FAQ: http://links.esri.com/bing_faq.

Thanks, Mike, for your response.

I have sent two emails to the address you provided, the first one 10 days ago, and no response so far.

This is a very disappointing situation. I'd like to be able to include Bing Maps in my application as the ESRI imagery isn't always suitable for our needs. I am very surprised that obtaining pricing information would be so difficult... I have been trying for months!

Anyone else have any words of advice on how to proceed?
