I use the Intel Atom x86 emulator for my development. It is magnitudes faster.
Pressing Run in Eclipse and seeing my app takes:
Intel: 10-20 seconds
ARM: 3-5 minutes
That amount of time adds up very quickly and costs me money.

Are there any plans to build an ArcGIS jar that works with Intel Atom native libraries (x86.so)?
Is there anything I can do to help get this done?

Bump!
Anyone from the Android team able to answer this?

Is there a pure java version available that could run in the Intel emulator?

I really hope they bring support for x86 emulator. Its not practical to do development with the ARM emulator considering how slow it is.

No action from ESRI on this point? Really painful for using ARM to dev.

Here is an update to what I answered in this thread where I mentioned we were considering support for x86 emulators.  We are now in the early stages of testing on x86 devices/emulator.  We are targeting this release.

Support for x86 emulators is included in the ArcGIS Runtime SDK for Android v10.2.
