Hi there,
We have imagery of abridge that we are wanting to process for bridge inspections using ArcGIS Reality studio. Much of this imagery faces upwards. It seems that Reality does not like this and fails on footprint computation.
Does Reality support upward facing images?
Thanks,
Marc

Hi Mark,
Thanks for reaching out.
It's not supported to process upward-facing imagery in Reality Studio at this moment. You'd need to take them out from the dataset before inputting in Studio. An idea to simplify this could be to create .csv file out of your images orientations and remove those which Omega or Phi values are incorrect.
All the best,
Damian

Thanks for the reply.
Is there a minimum angle below horizontal that images must adhere to in order to work with reality?
Do you have plans to support above horizon images at any stage?
Thanks,
Marc
Hi Mark,
The images must have a footprint projected on the ground. That's the only condition. So something that looks at the horizon will already not be supported.
There're plans to remove this dependency but in development.
Thanks,
Damian
