Hello everyone!
Is there a project that uses ArcGIS Reality with underwater data?
Multibeam data, sonar data for bathymetry, and images from AUV (Autonomous Underwater Vehicle) equipment.
If so, can you point me to documentation (videos, tutorial materials, and what file extensions we can use)?
Thank you.
Hi Fabio,
Currently, data from underwater platforms is not supported in Reality Studio. It is an interesting use case though, can you share insights on this market?
Best,
Camilo
Hi Camilo,
Thank you for your response, but I believe that if we convert the data formats generated by multibeam, sonar, and images, we will be able to use them in ArcGIS Reality.
The AUVs are linked to the vessel, which uses algorithms to calculate their location.
In this case, the AUV location data, marine surface data such as bathymetry, digital terrain models, and images could be used just like we use terrestrial surface data.
Well, this is my understanding, but I could be wrong.
Thanks Fabio,
To circle back to your initial question, georeferenced imagery is the key requirement for reconstructing scenes in Reality Studio today. We will note this down and keep track of the topic as a potential roadmap candidate. If you gain further insights on this please reach out to us!
