We are excited to announce the release of a new patch for ArcGIS Reality Studio 2024.3, aimed at enhancing user experience and addressing key feedback from the initial release.
Same features, just a lot better
This patch brings a host of improvements and fixes to ArcGIS Reality Studio 2024.3, including but not limited to:
- Switch to LAZ Format: Transitioning from LAS to LAZ format has significantly reduced disk space usage for point cloud results, up to 90%.
- Improved Memory Management: The occupied memory has been significantly reduced after a large Alignment process.
- Enhanced Alignment Step: The alignment step can now handle flights with very large (90/90+) overlaps efficiently.
- Speed Boost: Experience a 4x speed-up when reading images from blob storage.
- Enhanced Tools: The 'Get Heights' tool now finishes within seconds instead of minutes.
- Improved User Experience: Image Measurement Tool now focuses on the current best-guess point location in the image when measuring manual tie points.
- Cloud Storage Stability: Preventing indefinite hangs during the alignment process if the connection to cloud storage is lost.
- Visualization Enhancements: Improved how items with mixed visualization states are shown in the Visualization Tree.
- Bug Fixes: Various bug fixes including issues with the Cameras tab, Alignment Report creation, Waterbody settings, processing of Reconstructions with True Ortho enabled, and more.
- Enhanced Functionality: Improved pausing mechanism for Dynamic Ortho, faster tie point generation, improved validation of geometry, and more.
These updates aim to streamline workflows, enhance performance, and provide a more seamless user experience within ArcGIS Reality Studio.
