Hi hi, I have tried to process drone data from several flights with Reality for Pro, around 9000 photos in total, but already failed during the Adjustment step. The messages are a bit weird, according to the log thousands of phots were identified as duplicates and removed (of course, there were no duplicates), the assumed GSD in metres was a number with dozens of digits, etc.
I found some old (2023) information about certain limits (mainly referring to SiteScan), like 2500 photos, but there it was also said that these limitations would be overcome with the next version. I am using the latest version and could not find any concrete information on such limitations (BTW, would be good to include such information in the HELP....).
Why didn’t I process each individual flight? Because I want to create seamless products, such as an ortho mosaic, DTM and 3D mesh which does not need to be stitched together and where you always find inconsistencies (BTW, I haven’t yet checked if 3D meshes can be stitched together at all). Furthermore, some areas were covered by different flights in different angles, and I assumed that processing the photos together would increase the quality of the products (photos from different flight patterns, cross hatch etc.).
My question: any suggestion what to do? What I have heard during the UC is that SiteScan, Drone2Map, Reality for Pro, Reality Studio all use “the same engine”, what let’s me assume that it does not make sense trying it with another app.
Would the “Mask polygon features” option in the Adjust step help? The documentation is not very clear, says there should be a MASK field (long integer?) with numbers indicating which polygons should be excluded (1) or included (2) during the Adjustment. My idea is to segment the total area into maybe 5 smaller pieces, use all 9000 photos as input, but run several adjustments (and subsequently product production), one for each segment, hoping that the products then fit better.
Has anybody had similar issues, any solutions? Thanks!
