Line/Digitized direction not consistent on lines captured via Quickcapture

We setup a quickcapture project to do a windshield survey of ditches along roadways. The idea being that we would hit a button to indicate the  beginning of a ditch on the side of the road we are driving and then again when the ditch ends. We are using the built-in iPad GPS so the accuracy isnt great which caused the line to not always be on the side of the road we were actually driving. I thought this wouldnt be a problem since we could use the digitized direction to indicate the side of road and also use in postprocessing of the data to snap the line to the centerline and identify segments and side of road with ditch.

The problem we ran into is that the lines generated by Quickcapture dont seem to have accurate digitized direction. Sometimes its correct but sometimes not. The data was being captured to a hosted feature layer if that has any relevance. Anyone else experienced this? Is this a known issue?

Hi - could you share details of the device you are using and some screen shots of what you are seeing?

Many thanks

John

Sorry for the late reply. We are doing more testing to see when this occurs. It seems to have occurred in areas where we had limited coverage with the Ipad. I will report back if our testing provides any conclusive results.
