Hello ESRI people,
Just a quick question, Is Editable Feature Service be able to be linked with QuickCapture?
I am thinking of organising an editable feature service in my organisation's ArcGIS Enterprise for collecting records of certain species. Then, I found this QuickCapture.
I am just wondering if there is any way to link the QuickCapture with the editable feature service so that, for example, local communities leverage this app to add their finding to the editable feature service.
Thanks in advance,

Hi,
Yes an ArcGIS User account with the licencing for QuickCapture is required to use the app:
For public data collection, Survey123 (and/or a web map application) are likely your best solutions. If it's the general public, I would recommend they access the survey via a browser and not the installed app.

Yes. Quick Capture requires an editable service as capturing data involves applying edits.
You can use an existing editable feature service to star a quick capture project. Please see here:
For local communities, they will need an ArcGIS login licenced to use QuickCapture. Survey123 may be a better solution for public data submission. It can have public surveys in the app or web browser.
Hi magisian,
What I expected is that I make a QuickCapture project, and then share the project with local communities so that they can download the project to their mobiles and use the app to correct data.
Do they still need a ArcGIS licence to download and use the shared project? Is the licence free?

Thanks magisian for the details - helps me a lot!
All right, then I will also look into Survey123. When people access to Survey123 via the browser, is the information from the mobile (such as GPS, picture, etc) able to be recorded by Survey123?
I will look into it on my own but if you also know about this, that would be great.
The form in the browser does not offer the full functionality of the field app but you can capture quite a lot including location and photos.
Users will need to submit the data e.g. if doing a location question, their browser software will need permissions to the location or the user will need to manually set their location.
I suggest you give it a go. Use the Survey123 web designer as it's easy and effective. Connect is more powerful but a bit more difficult.
Thanks a lot magisian,
All right, I will give it try and just get used to it.
