First, I'd like to say that I know QC is designed to be a 'quick' way of gathering pts, lines, and polygons.

The following inquiries have been asked by our field user:

One of my users is asking if we can add storm drains and manhole covers to the background of our Quick Capture map for reference. If so how is this done?

The two added storm drain features will be non-editable.

Another question asked was if photos can be viewed after they've been taken on QC (I suspect not and the only way I can see at this point is to carry a tablet or pc and navigate to our Enterprise portal).

The documentation for QC is not as robust as I would expect, and some is quite confusing, so is there a better way to get detailed info about using the app designer?

Thanks for your help!

Adding storm drains and manhole covers to the QuickCapture map
Yes, this is possible. To do this:

  1. Create a web map that includes:
    • The non-editable reference layers (storm drains, manhole covers).
    • The layers used in your QuickCapture project (if you want to see captured data).
  2. Save the web map.
  3. In your QuickCapture project settings, go to Map Settings and set this web map as the project map.

Viewing photos after submission in QuickCapture
Unfortunately, QuickCapture does not support web map pop-ups. This means you cannot view photos for features that have already been submitted within the app.
