Our crew members take a photo every few seconds while walking around a work site. They each take hundreds of photos during a single inspection. In the resulting layer, each record has one photo and is mapped at the photo's location. The fastest way to achieve this when taking so many photos is to hide the camera preview:

This single-tap photo method is nice and quick, but our inspectors need to see the camera preview. Since the preview closes between every capture, each photo requires 3 taps:

  1. Tap the photo question button. Camera preview opens.
  2. Tap to capture a photo.
  3. Tap to accept the photo & create record. Camera preview closes.

Again, our inspectors are taking hundreds of photos while walking a work site. The extra taps to accept the photo and re-open the preview are really annoying, especially on sunny days when screens are hard to read. Ideally, they would only tap once to open the camera preview, tap once to capture each photo/record, and tap once to go back to the QC project. The steps would look like this:

  1. Tap the photo question button. Camera preview opens.
  2. Tap to capture a photo & create Record 1
  3. Tap to capture a photo & create Record 2
  4. (repeat until Record X)
  5. Tap to exit the camera preview
