I have a coworker with a folder in a network drive.  I can see this folder in Windows Explorer.  Other coworkers can see and connect to the folder with an ArcGIS Pro v3.3 Catalog window and the pane.

My one coworker cannot make a connection to this folder but they can see the folder in Windows Explorer.  They can also see the other folders in the drive with the elusive directory.

I am aware of the refresh directory trick (and the F5 shortcut).  This does not work.

Why is this one folder not visible (and unable to make a folder connection to) for only one individual.  My coworker has tried restarting their computer and then F5 refresh as well.

Any help is appreciated

This seems to come up from time to time and there was a suggestion that it might have to do with Hidden files; don't know. Try dragging and dropping the (visible) target folder from File Explorer onto Folders in the Catalog pane.

Ugh, this problem has gotten worse. I am now having the same problem with an APRX.  This APRX is in a different directory and with a different user than the one described in the original post.

I have exposed (and deleted) the hidden files in the offending aprx directory.  That seemed to make no difference on the visibility of the aprx in that directory.

Hi @GerryGabrisch did you manage to resolve this issue?

If not, I wonder whether right-clicking Folders > Add Folder Connection then pasting the full address of the desired folder (copied from Windows Explorer) into the Add Folder Connection window would work?

Hi @GerryGabrisch,

I was having the same issue, but eventually figured out that somehow I had accidentally renamed the folder in ArcGIS pro to something else. This changes the name in ArcPro, but does NOT change the name in File Explorer OR change the name in Pro for any other users which is likely why only the one person was having the issue. @PeterHodkinson Noted that if you copy the windows file path into the folder connection window, it should take you to the renamed folder.

Hope this helps!

I too am having this issue, and have tried the options above,

1) Checking for hidden files or folders (none)

2) Trying to map the drive (doesnt work, as no part of ArcPro is able to see the drive)

3) Trying to drag the drive in from windows (looks like it works, but nothing happens)

4) File directories have not been changed, so no name changes.

To add to the odd-ness, when I first encountered this problem, I deleted the map/project, and created a new one.  In the new project, I was able to see the "missing" directory.  But, after a few days, the directory went missing in the new map project.  I created another new project, and the directory is visible, but I don't expect it to stay that way, and re-creating projects is not a viable solution.

Does anyone have any suggestions?  Why does the issue re-appear after working around by setting up a new project?  Why are all of the other directories visible?

UPDATE:

For reasons I cannot explain, the directory is visible again.  The availability/visibility of the directory seems unstable.  I do not know why this is the case.
